Welding is a assembling process that joins materials, usually metals or a polymer, by a bonding process. This is done by melting the object being worked on and adding a binding material to form a pool of melted material which when cool becomes a strong point of contact. Sometimes pressure is used together with the heat process to make the weld. Welding is dangerous and unhealthy if insufficient precautions are taken. Welding processes involve a high flame with a risk of burns. Additionally, the brightness of the flame can cause damage to the eye. Welders are also exposed to toxic gases. However with new technology and sufficient protection, the risk of injury in welding will be reduced. Welding contractors thus have to ensure sufficient safety precautions are in place before proceeding with the hot works. Less
